Lavash Wrap with Crab Sticks and Vegetables
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of lavash
- 4 hard boiled eggs
- 1 small bell pepper (or half of a medium size pepper)
- 1 medium size cucumber (or an avocado)
- 2-3 lettuce leaves
- salt, pepper, dills to taste
- 4 tablespoon soft cheese (you can choose any taste to your liking; we used the classic one without any additional flavours)
Instructions
- Chop finely the crab sticks, cucumber/avocado, bell pepper, and dills. Grate the eggs.
- Lay the sheet of lavash flat on the countertop and cover it with soft cheese evenly. Make sure not to forget about the edges, as they will need to be covered with the cheese for the roll to remain closed when finished.
- Now, add the remaining chopped/shredded ingredients to the lavash, spreading them evenly on top of the soft cheese. This time, you will want to leave the edges uncovered, otherwise the filling will fall out when rolling it closed.
- Roll the lavash closed. Ensure it is not loose, or it will not keep its shape when cutting.
- Cover the roll with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Cut it into ~ 5 cm (2 inches) wide pieces and serve immediately.
You can add all the ingredients that you would normally add to your sandwich, like ham, cheese, tomatoes, avocado, etc. You can also try adding scrambled egg - we've found it tastes incredibly well with a lavash wrap and adds to the nutritional value of the dish. There are no strict rules in this dish and you can let your creativity soar!
You can use lavash instead of tortilla wraps, make iterations of this lavash wrap by changing the filling, or you can even make crispy lavash chips. You're free to experiment! Or, for a really bold idea, consider using lavash layers instead of nori sheets in a sushi cake!
